WiTec Alberta appoints Arnie Stephens as Executive Director.
The Wireless and Telecom Association of Alberta (WiTec Alberta) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Mr. Arnie Stephens as Executive Director effective June 1, 2007.
“We are very pleased to have attracted an individual of Arnie’s calibre to the role” said Bill Hews, Chairman. “ He brings a strong background and network as a senior sales and marketing executive to bear on the opportunity to assist member companies in growing their businesses.”
Mr. Stephens replaces Dr. Charles Reichert, who retired last month from a joint role for WiTec and Calgary Technologies Inc. and after many years contributing to the sector’s progress in Alberta. Mr. Stephens will be co-located with the Wireless City program office at the Alastair Ross Technology Centre in Calgary. He will also continue as volunteer Chairman of the Wireless Connections 2007 conference, held this year at the Banff Springs Hotel on November 15th and 16th with the theme “ How Technology is Advancing Productivity”
Mr. Stephens has worked for over 16 years in the telecommunications industry, progressing through executive positions of increasing responsibility in finance, sales, product management and development, and general management areas of a national service provider.
