Honouring Our Members: AGG’s “GeoStar” Award

The objectives of the award are to honour an AGG member for their volunteer contribution to geomatics community development and to encourage volunteering in the geomatics community.

The recipient of this award must be a member of the AGG, must have made a significant volunteer contribution to development of the Alberta geomatics community in geomatics industry development, geomatics education and/or to the geomatics public sector.

The recipient receives not only recognition by the geomatics community, but also a plaque presented at an AGG lunch, and announcement of the award on the AGG website.  Candidates may be nominated by any AGG member, by submitting a letter of recommendation to the GeoStar Panel Chair (the Past Chair of the AGG).  The recipient is selected by a GeoStar Panel (two AGG Directors and one AGG member-at-large), with approval by the AGG Board of Directors.
